ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENTS
PDS2000 is the user friendly software package for any kind of survey, positioning or dredging activity. It offers an integrated solution to survey planning, data acquisition, editing, chart production and volume calculations.
PDS2000 interfaces to many sensors and is manufacturer independant. Data is visualised graphically and numerically as soon as it is received. Data is processed online and ready for charting and volume calculation immediately after the survey. Quality is controlled using graphs and alerts. PDS2000 allows for seamless use of datafiles between data acquisition, editing, chart production and volume calculation...
The Video Overlay overlays computer-generated information on to camera or similarly-generated ‘live’ video.
User-inputs such as heading, depth, pitch, roll, altitude and pressures & temperatures may all be displayed on the overlay in text and graphical formats. Along with this data, any survey derived serial data - including GPS inputs - clients logo etc. may all be displayed...
DGPS is an enhancement to Global Positioning System that uses a network of fixed ground based reference stations to broadcast the difference between the positions indicated by the satellite systems and the known fixed positions.
The position obtained by GPS is not accurate enough for use by DP. The position is improved by use of a fixed ground based reference station (differential station) that compares the GPS position to the known position of the station. The correction is sent to the DGPS receiver by long wave radio frequency. For use in DP an even higher accuracy and reliability is needed...
Portable Hydroacoustic Positioning Reference Systems
(HPR) |
 |
This system consists of one or more transponders placed on the ROV and a transducer placed in the ship. The transducer sends an acoustic signal to the transponder, which is triggered to reply. As the velocity of sound through water is known (preferably a soundprofile is taken regularly), the distance is known. Because there are many elements on the transducer, the direction of the signal from the transponder can be determined. Now the position of the ship relative to the transponder can be calculated...
Single-beam echo sounder (SBES) 205 |
 |
Single-beam echo sounder produces soundings by transmitting short pulses of acoustic energy down towards the seabed and detecting those pulses reflected. The depth under the survey vessel is then calculated from the 2-way travel time of pulses and the mean speed of sound over the water column.
By this way a vessel with a single-beam echo sounder produces lines of soundings, and a map of contours can be constructed by interpolating the depth values between the survey lines...
Multi-beam echo sounder (MBES) |
 |
Multibeam systems produce high-resolution bathymetry data throughout the survey area. Since they acquire dense sounding data both along the ship's track and between the track lines, they can provide 100% coverage of the seafloor. Multibeam bathymetry sonar is used to locate topographical features on the seafloor such as sediment ridges, rock outcrops, shipwrecks, and underwater cables...
Is a category of sonar system that is used to create efficiently an image of large areas of the sea floor. This tool is used for mapping the seabed for a wide variety of purposes, including creation of nautical charts and detection and identification of underwater objects and bathymetric features. Side scan sonar imagery is also a commonly used tool to detect debris items and other obstructions on the seafloor that may be hazardous to shipping or to seafloor installations by the oil and gas industry. In addition, the status of pipelines and cables on the seafloor can be investigated using side scan sonar...
Powerful low frequency echo-sounders have been developed for providing profiles of the upper layers of the ocean bottom...
ROV's arms |
 |
Rov can be customized for several different kind of mission. With arms Rovs can hold, cut, sample, and be an extension of the pilot.
Instruments comprise of high resolution sensors: Altimeter, Depth, Conductivity, Temperature, Sound velocity, oxygen probe, ecc...
Profiling sonars provide an accurate cross-sectional profile of the seabed surface which highlights any structural differences and objects on the seafloor. Typically, profiling sonars will be used for cross sectional profiling in pipeline and trench survey, precision positioning of mattresses and rock dumping, storage tank survey and the underwater survey of man made structures including road and rail bridge foundations...
Cathodic Protection Corrosion Test NDT (Non-Destructive testing) |
 |
Electrochemical potential of Cathodic Protection is measured with reference electrodes (Silver chloride electrodes are used for seawater applications).
The contact probe is used to obtain direct values of cathodic potential on exposed steel or anodes. The hand held or ROV mounted probe measure can be displayed in real time on a simple Windows application that also allows data to be transmitted to e.g. the surveyors. The data may be taken directly into an video overlay in order to have the measures correlated to the other possible informations coming from the Rov,(e.g. Geographical Position, depth, ecc.) ...

This high precision instrument thanks to math calculus can measure everything appear on screen with high precision. This means measurement of distances, angles, circles, polygons, Counting of objects, etc.
